Planting directions
After danger of frost has passed, plant dahlia tubers upright in loose, well draining soil amended with compost and a well rounded fertilizer. Tubers should be planted shallowly with the crown end barely below the surface of the soil.
Alternatively, start tubers indoors 4-5 weeks before last frost by planting vertically in a pot with good quality potting soil with the crown just above the surface of the soil. Plant outside after all danger of frost has passed.
Dahlias prefer full sun but will do well in a partial sun location as long as it is they are not crowded by taller plants.
This listing is for one dahlia tuber with one or more good eyes.
Please note that tuber size and shape can vary from short and fat to long and skinny. Shape and size of the tuber is not an indicator of tuber quality or viability. We only send out tubers we would be happy to receive ourselves.
