Refund policy

POLICIES SPECIFIC TO LIVE PLANTS (INCLUDING DAHLIA TUBERS, IRIS RHIZOMES AND PEONY ROOTS)

We always want you to be pleased with your Creative Green Gardens plants!

Please inspect your live plant order right away when it arrives. If there are any problems or questions, please contact us within 3 business days of receipt of your order.

In-Person Pick Up Order Refund Policy

Due to the time-sensitive nature of live plant products, we cannot offer refunds on in-person pickup orders that are not picked up.

If you cannot pick up your order, we will make every reasonable effort to work with you - including offering alternate pick-up times and locations or the opportunity to have your order shipped directly to you for a fee.  If you do not respond to our attempts to coordinate an alternate pickup or pay for shipping, we will consider your order forfeited 21 days after the originally scheduled pickup date, and no refund will be issued. 

 

How we handle out-of-stock dahlia tubers

We know how carefully dahlia growers choose what varieties to add to their gardens and how disappointing it can be for a much-anticipated tuber to not arrive.

We will never swap your ordered tubers out for another variety without asking you first.

If we are unable to fulfill your order for a specific dahlia tuber, we will reach out via email to offer your choice of a substitution or a refund. If we do not hear back from you before your order is scheduled to ship, a refund will be issued for any tubers we cannot ship.

 

How we handle out-of-stock iris and peony roots or live plants

Due to their nature, the kinds of hiccups we might run into with dahlia tuber inventory and storage are nearly non-existent for the rest of the plants and roots we carry. For this reason, it is extremely unlikely that we will sell you a plant that is not a dahlia that we cannot fulfill. (It hasn't happened yet!).

In the unlikely event this happens, we will reach out via email to offer your choice of a substitution or a refund. If we do not hear back from you before your order is scheduled to ship, a refund will be issued for any plants or roots we cannot fulfill as-ordered.

 

What happens if my plant blooms and it isn't the variety I ordered?

We are meticulous about labeling to prevent this from happening. In the unlikely event this happens to you, please contact us as soon as you know that your plant is not blooming as expected.

We typically correct this by saving a cutting/tuber/rhizome/root of the correct variety for you the following season to replace the tuber that bloomed incorrectly.

Please note that dahlias sometimes do something called "sport" which is when all or some of the flowers bloom in a different color (or rarely a different form) than the mother plant. If a dahlia you purchase from us sports, we will exchange it for a non-sported tuber of the expected variety.

 

GENERAL RETURN POLICIES FOR NON-PLANTS

We have a 30-day return policy for non-personalized items, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt, proof of purchase or order number to make a return.

Due to their nature, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds on personalized items or digital products.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items

Certain items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), customized products (such as books signed to a specific individual), and digital downloads (including gift cards).

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not.

If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days.

Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund after we issue it.

Europe-Specific Policies

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification.

As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt, proof of purchase or order number. This policy only applies to physical items and not to digital downloads.
